I don't know if any of you have heard, but Rally Driver Colin McRae died yesterday in a helicopter crash, and even worse, his 5 year old son was also in the helicopter at the time. Devestating news. Such a shame.

Agreed that is really horrible news, according to the Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/09/16/nmcrae216.xml) he had a Wife and daughter aged 8. Such a shame as he was really well known.

Yeah big shame :( on board where also a friend and son too. Another Heli has crashed with the Subaru boss on board too! but no one hurt in that one. A fatal crash at and air show and a plane has gone down in Tialand with something like 90 passengers on board. Seems its not a weekend to be in the air! :(

Or the ground - two people critically ill in Barnsley after being hit by a police car, and three people killed in a bus crash in London.....

I think all events like this are so sad. Too many deaths happening at the moment, be they stabbings, shootings or crashes. :085:

It is horrible. I remember getting used to hearing about his rally games comming out and kind of using it to tell that the new year was nearly here. I never knew much about him but i heard he had the best rally games around. Its so terrble that all these accidents happen in just one weekend. Makes you realise how short and unpredictable life really is. RIP Colin Mcrae and everyone else who have dies in these terrible accidents through no fault of there own.

I was reading in the Metro today that the crash was unsurvivable (?), and the emergency services could barely tell it was a helicopter.

Its a horrible way to go, sad news.

It's just so horrible to hear about events like this where lives are taken before their time. So tragically and such a shame. Makes it worse when the person is in the public eye because it has an affect on so many people :(
