Things that made you smile today

The sun doesn't usually make me smile too much because I'm not a huge fan of the heat, but it did today.

I was on yard duty and for the one and only time in the four years I've been doing it not one child came up to ask to go to the toilet/moan about someone 'hurting their feelings'/crying because they'd fallen over.

They were all either too happy or too lethargic due to the sun and heat to do any of the above. Plus it gave me a chance to work on a suntan, and then a few of us went to the beach down the road from the school at two to eat icecreams and work on our tans a little bit more.

My computer broke last week, just when dead when i was using it. i called the insurance company and they wanted me to pay for the repair after i've been paying £30 a month for the past 2 years. Great, after a week long battle of phone calls they decided to pick it up and repair it,

now it has been returned. all good one problem. i know a lot about computers one thing i didn't tell them. after a gave the computer a look throw i figured out that the version of vista is an illegal copy and not genuine. but ill have them on that but for now i'm back online. and i can finish off a design project for a client. 10 days left in the deadline.

Getting my Summer holidays yesterday, and spending the afternoon at a bog/farm with my friends chasing cocks, milking cows, baking bread,having bog races, and drinking champagne. I did have to then suffer one of those dreadful staff nights out where you have to pretend to like everyone, and listen to an impromptu singalong that lasted over an hour, but one person did pay for all the food and drink (for 22 people) in this posh restaraunt so it was a free meal at least.

the audition was intense almost X factor style and i was quite disappointed as the people who took time to write me a great character reference never really got read.

Bit of advice to anyone who applies for these shows its a hell of alot harder to get on than you think .

I got a first in an assignment, and am now feeling very positive for the future. I'm moving out of halls tomorrow, and into another student house ready to start my new job on Monday. It's been raining, and is now cooler which is ace. My bf has been cooking me meals every night this week, and making me food to take to placement, and I passed my placement and got an ace report. I'm very happy! Oh, and I'm going T in the Park next week. :D

Working away on my designs and the post man came and delivered a parcel the packaging was black with Jack Daniels witting on. so i opened it up and to my surprise there was a brush inside, i thought that it was for shaving with but the bristles were rubber, strange, my friend in Texas helped me out, it was a brush to apply BBQ sauce to meat ,lol just in time because i bought some of that Jack Daniels BBQ sauce yesterday ,lol

Not so much smile but my manager left today after 3 years, as much as she has been a cow to everyone at some point and all the bad things like moaning about silly little things etc it was sad, she cried (which suprised us) and it was sad when she left, she gave us all a hug which i dont think anyone expected and told me that i was 'a great girl'. Making me smile today is my new job, I love it! Well, my story starts on Saturday Morning when blood was coming out of my right ear. Repeated Sunday Morning, so went to casualty as I thought I was going to internally bleed to death and no one would realise. After 4 hours in casualty on what was apparently overdose day in Belfast where everyone with a Panadol decided to take them with vodka I was told to come back the next day to ENT Casualty.

Another 4 hours later this morning, the doctor told me I had a burst blood vessel in my ear but apart from that I was ok...

This made me smile :) as I was up all last night deciding how this ear bleed was going to make me die or was as a result of something that was going to make me die lol.

A crap week ended well. Went to see Hairspray last night, Michael Ball, Leanne Jones and Ben James-Ellis finish this weekend so it was a bit special. There was a ten minute section where for the first time in my life I was uncontrollably crying with laughter at the ad-libs between Michael Ball and Nigel Planer. It was totally brilliant.

i got a new phone at last hehe done a bit of flriting to get a better deal with the phone walked away with a brill new phone and a usb o2 mobile internet stick and a few calltime deals and text deals and internet deal on the phone

so im quite pleased with it all

the deals are this on the phone 500 free texts (instead of my 300 a month) unlimted internet use on the phone for (7pounds a month it takes it off tour top up)
and ive got some call time free cant rember the amount now

as for the usb internet thing git it for £15 when its nomrlay £25-30 non contarct one i can top it up from two pounds to get the internet for a day lol £15 lasts a month

in total i spent £102

Had a fab night out on friday, it was my friends birthday and we (about 40 of us) went to playtowers (a play area thing for kids, ball pools, slides, climbing things...you get the drift lol)...all weraing pj's then we went out in town after. Such a good night drank far too much and have so many bruises from playtowers it was brutal i dont know how little kids do it! lol it was worth it though :)

Getting a second day off work because of the Lisbon Treaty. Our whole staff went for a big night out together last night to celebrate not having to get up this morning, which was great.

Athough I have no idea what it's about and no intention of voting on it, I really like the Lisbon Treaty. I hope the country votes no again so we might get a third day off.

Having a really good day :) got loads of bank charges refunded, got my bonus confirmation at work and my store manager who cut off his plaster of paris having had it on for a day as he hurt his leg as he is a pain in the padded ass - his leg has turned black, and he has to get injections! and his plaster is back on for 10 weeks now!

Back on the internet whoop! Plus went to see Pink last night and she was AMAZING! We queued for 10 hours and when we got in we were right at the front of the barrier and on the left of the catwalk....i got so many good pics and we were in touching distance.....she looked and sounded fab. So mch fun...apart from the fight behind us...why?? but brilliant.

I made me smile today - I braved going to the fireworks display!

I am absolutely petrified of fireworks after being scared witless by those videos they used to show us in primary school 20 years ago about firework safety, but I was always determined not to pass my fear onto my kids, so i just grin and bear it.

didn't help that one of the big shooting loud bang ones didn't fire properly so exploded only about 10m off ground level, I so so so so could have just turned and ran at that point, them mis-firing and shooting into the crowd is pretty much my #1 fear so that was a little too close for comfort!

but i survived, another year down! :D

I'm beginning to cheer up now the weekend is approaching. The sun is out, and I'm quite bright. Going swimming Thursday, or Friday. Went running for an hour yesterday, which knocked a lot of the tension out of me.

my hamster just died, yes i am hugely sad but i am also happy because i recognised the signs that his time was nearly up, i had him cuddled up in a towel which was tucked into my cardi and he just cuddled up and slept, he was there the best part of 6 hours until he passed, i am just so glad he passed knowing love and being warm and not cold and alone in his cage (hamsters become very cold in their last hours), he was quite distressed being in his cage but he was so content when he was all cuddled up with me.
we just buried him, had to wade through over a foot of snow to get to the back of the garden, it was quite beautiful with the snow and the mist, the dogs then instantly made me smile by bouncing about and playing in the snow, we have a little jack russell and she was having to do these gazelle-like leaps to get through it lol

I have neatly skimmed out the way of family.... was supposed to be at a family gathering today, but am on the loose at the library, then the shops, then coffee & cream, then the swimming pool. :-)

I will only see family briefly Xmas day, then I have a run planned... like for HOURS, then the rest of the day by myself, avoiding sulks and arguments and power mind games and all the rest. Roll on the Spring... I don't really like the Xmas period v. much, but too bad.

Anyway, next year, I'm gonna book myself into a B&B on one of the remote Scottish Islands. I think I will enjoy that.

Tomorrow, I am cleaning... all day, once again expertly avoiding family... got this down to a fine art.

I have removed and blocked a number of people on my twitter, purely for uttering the word "snow" and complaining about it. Enough.

I think I may be the official Xmas scrooge for 2009 - lol

Sirius XM is running Act 3 of The History of Howard Stern. It's an amazing series - 4/5 hours a day of chronicling the history of the Stern show with the best bits of the show and running commentary on these moments. Currently, it's Act 3, Scene 3, up to around 1992, all the way to 1996. It goes into a lot of detail on things about the show such as dealing with the FCC (their OFCOM), and it's weird to hear all the stuff Moyles does now being done 17 years ago by Howard.

If you ever get the chance to hear one of these, you absolutely must get hold of it.
