I was delighted to see an article about Chris (and the show) in my regular read, The Independent! I LOVE the show, have done for at least 2 years, yet I'm old enough (biologically, if not legally!) to be Chris's mum! - It was me who got my young kids into the show, not the other way round!! We really feel like we know the team personally, and have even got a photo of them up in the kitchen, mingled in with other snaps of family and friends... is that really sad? I'd so love to meet them... I've just discovered Chris is doing a book signing in Bristol... I am going to have to get the day off work... Yes, I listen to Radio 4 as well... even The Archers... my kids are going to grow up so confused...! Anyway, the point of this thread, are there any other (old)Indy readers out there? I "get" Chris and the team so well, I often laugh my sensible socks off on the way to work / school, when I really should be tuning in to the political stuff over on R4... AM I ALONE?!:060:

That's the beauty - he appeals to all ages. The show really brings us all together at work. I'm 26 and don't have too much in common with the younger people i work with or the much older people. However, for the first few hours of the day we chat and laugh about the show as most of us listen on the way in to work in the mornings. It unites us all! For a while the billie piper 'i love you... you're amazing' was being said around the office and the office email to crack a smile on everyones faces (Also encouraged those that didn't have a clue to tune in and start listening to the show!)
I've loved the show since i was at college (back in 97/98) and chris was on in the afternoons. Always dropped an email (but neve got a mention!)
Mark n lard would read out the odd few though!! Miss them guys!
Hi grownuphippychic and welcome, I'm glad to hear your a fan of the show, its good :) not so glad about radio 4 but thats life I suppose, you win some you lose some. I'll be the forum grumpy and say that you should have posted in the 'new here' thread rather than create your own ... normal service resumed :)
