I agree it was an awful interview on Chris Rock's part. You could tell from the start it was going to be bad.

Chris did well to keep going and it did sound like Aled had the rough end of the stick.

Looking forward to JLC interview but Davina a no no imo.

Davina is great, she also the very definition of a MILF.

As for Chris Rock - I must have been in the minority because I didn't think it was that bad, behind the scenes I can't say, but if what Aled said is true (which it more than likely is) that's pretty terrible.

On Air, it was ok, nothing special. But I'd have given it a 5 or 6. To be honest I was a little surprised at the feedback from Radio 1 staff afterwards.

I think the atmosphere in the studio could maybe be cut with a knife.

Well as usual I was at work so I couldn't concentrate fully, so maybe I didn't pick up on that.

I didnt hear any of the feedback afterwards, in fact, i had to switch off before the end of the interview. But i didnt think it was all that bad either! I mean, he wasnt brilliant, and the start was a bit rocky, but i thought he warmed up... sort of.

What happened that was pretty terrible?

His PA or Agent or whatever was very rude to Aled when he said it would be 12 minutes until he was going on. She swore at him and demanded they put him on right away.

Also not as terrible (but still rather rude), apparently Chris Rock was basically ignoring Aled when he tried to brief him before the show.

It's better to listen again as you get the full story. chris was well disappoint and in my opinion if your are to frighten to ask for someone who you admire, for their autograph, that's not right.

They also rated him very low, none above 5.

well ive listened to about a minute of it, and it sounds about as good as P Diddy (it was him who fell asleep right).

Well, he was great on Jonathan Ross. I think the conclusion that he's not a morning guy is fairly accurate.

I made a point of listening to this interview not because I'm a fan of Chris Rock (I don't know much about him, and what I do know I don't like), or because I was hoping he'd turn the air blue, but because of something I read in an interview with Richard from Richard and Judy fame a couple of days ago. I took note of it as I knew Chris Rock was going to be a guest on the show, something which Chris was clearly very excited about, but based on what Richard said about Rock I sensed it was going to be a big letdown and I wanted to hear just how much of a car crash it turned out to be.

In reply to the question 'Who's been the most annoying person you've ever had to interview?' Richard replied 'Chris Rock! He was an arsehole. He wouldn't shake hands and as soon as we started the interview he turned his back to us...' I wish it had been a live interview because after two minutes I would have said to him 'Look mate, why don't you just piss off and go and have a coffee because you're being a pain in the neck...'.

From the sound of things Chris Rock was as rude if not ruder to him than he was to Aled, and Richard Madeley was the actual 'talent'. I think he's just a prick in general, and not a very funny one at that. I saw him on Jonathon Ross tonight too, and he made two of the exact same jokes as he did on the show yesterday morning, which he probably uses in his set as well. Tom Hanks, who was also on the show, was much funnier than him, as well as being far more charming and affable. Now he's a proper star.

It did seem at most times in the interview that he was fighting to stay awake. I can only praise Chris and team for kicking it until it was dead! It was ok and i even missed Chris Rock swearig - gutted!

I agree with pretty much all that has been said, I was hoping that it was just because he wasnt a morning person but that doesnt seem to be the case, judging by Richards from Richard and Judy (the people who tell you what books to read;)) impression of him he's just like that a lot of the time which is a shame as he is a good comedian - well during sets, not in interviews. I believe that without a doubt the team should have shown Chris the hydraulic desk as a sign to the listeners although that may not have been needed anyway.
I have yet to watch last nights Friday night with Jonathan Ross, so I'll just have to wait and see on that.
Its evident that having a bad PA and bad people around you (organising a tour or promotion) will not be good - it may not affect any interviewers opinion of the star but they won't remember it as a good interview if the PA shouts and swears, Aled wont remember any good points in the interview he will just remember the shouting PA - which is inevitable so thats one persons opinion of Chris Rock that has gone down.

Moyles did do his best to keep it radio worthy though so its not too bad - Perhaps instead of Aled doing a guide to the star guest in future he should do 'Aleds guide to English humour' - that would explain sooo much to any Americans who havent been over much before.

well i think we can safely say he will be on the list of unwanted guests for the show

i don't rate him as a stand up either i like his films but that's about it really

I saw him on Jonathan Ross and agree that Tom Hanks was much funnier - I noticed the two jokes he reused too, also he just didnt really get the show and looked to be embarrassing Tom Hanks, I liked Hannah and Andrew-something from primeval - it was a good show apart from Chris Rock in my opinion
