Chris does play music, and, more importantly, what the hell is up with that image?

If the music is like that crap that's currently at #1 I'd be happy for the Moyles show to go 100% talk.

that would be my (extremely) terrible photoshopping to make the sentance stand out. it sort of worked.. sort of didn't.
you want to see a good image? www.asphoto.co.uk is my website... :-)
Also its a sarcastic comment...

Can I suggest the classic encircling technique for pointing out a portion of an image for next time?
I do agree with Terrier though, I would far prefer to have no music at all on the show, there is a lot of drivel released now-a-days. That said though, I do understand that Moyles and the team need a break every now-and-then.

i was gonna do that. But i couldnt find the button to do it. So i did everything else instead :-)
I third terriers motion. No music, or maybe just a few tracks he likes. When moyles stops smoking, maybe that will happen..! (if he hasnt already stopped..)
I fourth the terrier motion, it would be a lot easier to listen to (without tracks to fast forward through), however do you think the team could fill 3 and a half hours entirely, its ok when they manage to get on a good rant or subject which can go on for a while like the celeb lap, but when they run out of stuff and end up talking garbage then they'd nosedive.
Sadly the music department would have to have a chimp as its boss to let them not play any music so thats not going to happen,
From another view - those who like the music a bit more for whatever reason - they like dancing in the morning or find it more relaxing to wake up to rather than a conversation - its better to have a bit of music,
I think that whilst it would be ideal to have a show with no music, its not going to happen and in reality it shouldn't - the team deserve a bit of a break I suppose ;)
and Andy - you really wanna get a better image hosting site, its ridiculous that every photo is watermarked with an advertisement, that might be an option but I think its a bad one - it makes it seem as if none of them are your photo's

must say im happier the less music there is cus that usually means theyre caught up in some funny stuff! do love it though when they play old tv stuff..course me bein older than all you lot put together probs means i remember it more lol
I've always thought on listen again that there should be a skip records option... However this would tack alot of time. Like put it into chapters like the Enhanced podcast.

the radio one playlist is crap
i love it when chris does 80s mornings
oi! No it's not! It' really not crap. It may not be right for you but that doesn't make it crap.
There are 10 of us who spend a quarter of our working week researcing playlist and discussing what should be on it. It also has 4 people who work full time. We listen to the audience, research the music industry, have a panel of listeners who give us their opinion and have a playlist that's balanced between the major genres of music, reflects populist music as well as brand new emerging artists and has a very good Uk / Internaional balance.
To then deem all that as crap just because you don't like it doesn't seem fair!

The playlist isnt crap, its the music that is crap and its not a reflection on radio 1 its a reflection on the music industry and the music buying public.
There are songs i dont like, which i can accept are good (like the Kanye West/Chris Martin song) but then there is utter bilge like the rubbish that is at number one at the moment.
And whilst musical taste is very much opinion rather than fact, i really cannot see how anyone would find any redeeming qualities in it what so ever.
I like that song that is number one which you call 'utter bilge' you're just going to have to accept that the radio one playlist is in place to get the best of all types of music in an even spread to accept the widest available listeners and I feel it does this well, R1 are evidently very keen on getting it right and actually listen to the audience which is key, this can often be seen when Chris does unofficial text polls about songs, they get mixed results a lot of the time which is a good thing - it means that people who like that sort of song are listening but also those who dont like that song are listening - which is even better - they may be listening for a different genre. so I say WELL DONE THE PLAYLIST :p

This thread is exactly what the playlist is aiming for
"I don't like A, i like B"
"I like A, but not B"
So keep listening..
Go on everyone. Here's the latest playlist (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/playlist/) tell me your 3 favourite tracks and your 3 least favourite

I agree with all of the above -- especially that dreadful Rockstar song. PLEASE remove it. It makes me want to retch. I'd rather listen to that Tiny Dancer remix than that.

I like the Rockstar song, even if I did first hear it over two years ago - Radio 1, the home of new music.

Compared to local radio it most certainly is the home of new music regardless - my local radio have a jingle that says the best of todays music and then plays a song from around 20 years ago - nice songs though :) - only listen when in car - they tend to have more relevant travel info than radio one ;)
Adele - Chasing Pavements
The Feeling - I Thought It Was Over
Kylie - Wow
aslo like rockstar and a few others but i cba to tpye them atm i dont dislike anything on the play list atm but those four are my favs
Goldfrapp - A&E [It's a great song]
The Feeling - I Thought It Was Over
Kylie - Wow
And I HATE rockstar

What constitutes new music? It's currently Number 3 in the singles chart. It was released in 2006 with no video hence the single didn't do very well. It was re-released in November with a more star studded video and has climbed steadily ever since. Now that it's Top 3 it's right that Radio 1 reflects it - rather than when the public weren't interested 2 years ago.
