Facebook has the feature of creating badges (i.e. for signatures) and I was just wondering if it would be possible for us to have them on our signatures (as I know its not currently possible to link to outside images)

they look like this:

http://badge.facebook.com/badge/836319675.287.794763107.png (http://www.facebook.com/people/Mike_Skuse/836319675)

and can be made by going here (http://www.facebook.com/badges.php)

Are you sure it's not possible? I've got a link to an outside image and I don't think that I've got different signature permissions than you do.

Take unofficial mills for example, works fine for me there. All aled.info would need to do is allow html code. It's currently set to off..

I believe that we are unable to link to external images in signatures but we're able to in posts - I think it was so that the size could be limited.

No, that was on the last forum, no such system has been set-up on this site (as of yet), so you can link to whatever images you want.

Yeah, I'm not going to be turning the HTML on - it causes too many problems and I don't have time right now to thoroughly check out vB's HTML parser. Just use bbCode, that works fine.

nope, still not working for me :?, down the bottom where it says if each of the features are on or off it says that [img] tags are off for me

Console

Okay, I managed to stumble across the correct setting to allow the IMG tag to be used in signatures. It'll work fine now (as evidenced by GBM's current sig).

when you create a badge on facebook it only gives you html codes but no image codes my picture is actually a copied to a png so how do you do that then

Console
14-05-2008, 12:14 PM
The image URL will be within that HTML code somewhere. It'll probably look something like: -

<a href="http://www.facebook.com/something-or-other/" title="Facebook"><img src="http://badge.facebook.com/path_to_image" alt="Facebook badge" /></a>

The bit you want is encapsulated in speech marks, just after 'src='.

Depends how you look at it! It would be a worse step certainly. Where have you been?!

No where in particular - just haven't seen worth much posting a response too (scathing enough for you?).

Edit: Fixed.
