Hi,
Some of you may have just noticed a small disruption - this was caused by the forum being upgraded. All is done now, but if anyone notices anything that's not working, or anything that is detrimentally different to the way it was before, then post here and we'll see what we can do about it.
am I right in thinking that the thread icons on the main page are different now?

They shouldn't be - they should still be the 'A's. I'm changing them now.
Edit: Done.

There's some different stuff in the user (http://www.aled.info/forum/member.php?u=39)profiles (http://www.aled.info/forum/member.php?u=13). Other than that, I haven't noticed anything either.

Ok, other new features include: -
the ability to add tags to a thread (the thread creator can specify tags on the 'New Topic' page). This makes searches easier, or something.
an updated buddy list, that includes some sort of reciprocation feature (as most people didn't use the old buddy system, I doubt this will have much use).
public messaging, you can leave public messages for people in a way entirely different to both PM's and the forum.
user photo albums - users can now upload photos for their own personal albums in their User CP.
user defined social groups, accessible via the User CP.
There's also some other bits and pieces, and, no doubt, bug fixes.

I'm liking some of the new stuff, it'd be good if it gets used a lot, we shall see :)
Thanks for the upgrade console! :D
Just a heads up Console, I think I noticed the other day that when I was on one of the newly added pages (social groups I believe) my status on the top users was blank - would that be due to the status not being known?

Yeah, I noticed that too, but I haven't figured out why it's doing it yet. It also does it when people are on the photo album pages - I've got an inkling that it may be a permissions thing (as the 'Top Users' script runs as a guest on the board), but I haven't test yet.
Yeah I noticed that on Adam's thing a few days ago. Just thought I was seeing things!
