Wow.

I haven't even had a chance to talk to everyone on the forum and thank you for your support on Sunday when I get a call and have been told I'm now doing another show!!!!

This Sunday - the 13th of July I'm in for Kelly - and we're talking about family relationships and the stresses from that.

I'd be great to have you around! :)

We know you would!

This is becoming nice and regular, isn't it? And so it should, you're really good at it.

Well you're obviously doing something right! Congratulations Aled - I have to say I think you're doing a really good job on the surgery and this is obviously reflected in the fact that they want you back so soon.
I'll be listening I'm sure, ironically having just come back from my parents house for a family lunch, which is guaranteed to be stressful and argumentative!

Having heard last Sunday night's Surgery I have to say that the role of presenting the show really suits Aled, he does it very well.

He's obviously high in emotional intelligence, which is just as well seeing as he's clearly lacking in terms of general knowledge.

Gay or not, how can anyone get to the age of 37 and not only not know what a hymen or labia is, but appears to be unsure how to to even pronounce the words? Hearing that reminded me (in a rather strange, roundabout way) of the time on Chris' show when Aled couldn't name the four Beatles. I remember hoping at the time that he was just playing up for show purposes, but he did seem very genuine. I'm honestly constantly astonished by some of the things he appears not to know.

But having said all that, he is doing a great job on the surgery, so well done Aled.

This seems astonishing to me too - but the thing I'm impressed about with Aled is that however ridiculous his lack of basic knowledge, he isn't embarrassed about asking, now that he really needs to know this stuff! And I do wonder whether there might be an element of "if I feign complete ignorance, there won't be a single person out there who feels stupid if they don't understand what we're talking about" - which wouldn't surprise me in the least.

37? Dont you mean 39? :p

Well done Aled. To me, the surgery sounds much better when you are presenting, you seem more relaxed than Kelly. Plus your lack of knowledge about females is highly amusing!

A lack of knowledge about females is not always a bad thing - who wants to know what goes on down there !

However you have to give it to Aled, he looks so good for a man of 41.

Aled
11-07-2008, 12:31 AM
I have missed the team too. REALLY missed the show actually.

And whoa! 37 / 39 / 41!?!?!?! 31 thank you.

There are many many things I will happily assume no knowledge on on either CM show or Surgery in order to partly make sure it's explained to a certain section of the audience that I think may not know about the topic (be it old cultural reference or medical). But on this occasion I must admit I did have NO idea.

I must ask though, when in my life would those topics EVER come up? I wasn't even taught it in school - and it's hardly something I would have looked up on the internet or discussed with a girlfriend!

As for Monday morning - it's going to be a brutal 6 hours for me between Surgery and show - I won't say too much why... but lets just say I'm not doing the show from London....

Hi Aled
Dont know what happened with those ages lol! Must have been a virus lol!

I find the opposite about girly bits - my friends who are girls - share far far too much detail. I think they forget that I'm actually a boy lol!

Oh interesting about the travelling - 6 hours from London, mmmm, plane involved?

A geek on UM (http://www.unofficialmills.co.uk/communities/showpost.php?p=263049&postcount=5) reckons it's because Moyles is filming his pilot TV show on Sunday night?

12-07-2008, 07:43 PM

I believe that the geek on UM is right about Moyles filming tonight - it was on the darkside, however from what Aled told us (without giving too much away) he's going to be doing the mornings from other places - I don't think it has anything to do with the Surgery or Moyles quiz show.

As for Monday morning - it's going to be a brutal 6 hours for me between Surgery and show - I won't say too much why... but lets just say I'm not doing the show from London....

Does this not just mean that the six hours between him finishing the surgery and the beginning of the breakfast show are going to be brutal as it means he's not going to get much sleep, the show not being from London but somewhere else? Not that he is going to be six hours from London? Or am I getting completely the wrong end of the stick?

Anyway, good luck aled!
