When you say "Genuinely" it makes it sound like you are NOT being genuine. I've noticed both you and Rachel do this alot and it just sounds like such corporatespeak.

That is all. :)

Also, offering highly qualified, experienced and professional people "a word of advice" makes you sound patronising. Genuinely.

Im sorry i was in a rush when i said this, I'd meant to put it last week, but then today listening to show Aled did do it again and it reminded me. I do think it sounds hugely fake when they do this and it can be extremely irritating, like when Chris asks Rachel if she likes a song on the playlist and she says she "Genuinely like(s) it" . So you're not being genuine the rest of the time then. (Fair enough to Aled in todays show he actually did say that he is not always genuine in his ratings of the girls that he sees when he is out and about for the show).

So you're not being genuine the rest of the time then.

People say 'genuinely' and/or 'honestly' to specifically state the fact that they are being genuine and/or honest (unless they're lying), as opposed to letting a statement be ambiguous in it's genuineness/honesty.

And also to reinforce and confirm that you are being entirely truthful if these things appear to have been questioned - eg "Do you like that song?" "Yes." "Really?? You really like it??" "Genuinely, yes, I do".

Well seems that its just me, but I still think think it doesn't need to be said. My default position is to think everything someone says is "genuine" but when they make a point of saying they are being genuine i immediately ask myself why they feel the need to say it. Oh well apparently I'm on my own :)

I know what you mean Ajayrious. I worked with a woman once and she normally started her sentences with " I'm not being horrible but..." I knew that she was being horrible tho and so did a lot of other people.

It's like they are excusing themselves from what they are about to say.

I shall keep that in mind! I didn't really realise I did it that often!

To add to the "I wish Aled wouldn't say that...", I have one that bugs me a little bit... but I don't think it's your fault and probably something you have to say!

It's just that I've noticed that when you do the Surgery, whenever you say who you are, you say "I'm Aled from the Chris Moyles Show'... fair enough, but I think you're proving to be be a good radio presenter in your own right, and it's fair enough to give people a reference point, but it'd be nice for you just to say : "Hi, I'm Aled on the Surgery!"

So not really a proper criticism, but more that you should take more credit for your skills!!

Is it that Aled from the Chris Moyles Show is worth more money than Aled on The Surgery?! In which case - you are from the Chris Moyles Show and don't let anyone forget it!
