View Full Version : Supersize Me
Hey guys. Sorry I haven't even around, been working on a lot of new stuff lately. A few secret pojects and the like. September to March is going to be a very busy period for the Chris Moyles Show (in fact the next two weeks are going to be busy too)
Tomorrow morning at 7:50 we're going to be talking about something on the show that I'm going to need your help on.
Tune in if you get the chance!
Oooh, sounds good although I dont think its ever a dull time for the show ;)
Sadly I won't be listening live - its results day so I'll be all nervous and crap but more interestingly I'm more nervous about giving out yearbooks which I was party of the committee for :?

Good luck GBM - mine's in a week's time!
Ahhhh I get some of mine when I get back to school! :D Maths Module 9 and some Science stuff.
Didn't you do yours with Scott, Aled? I know he did Higher GCSE Maths and got a U...
And I'll TRY and listen live tomorrow, It's been a long week and nothing is being promised :D
Good luck GBM - mine's in a week's time!
Thanks!, I'm sure you've done fine, you seemed to be more concentrated than any of the others

Oh my god Aled! This is going to be insane, but as Chris says...very interesting!

Ok, Aled is talking about it now. He's going to be drinking alcohol every night for three weeks for a Radio 1 campaign.
He's paid to do this, by the way.
It will be twice the recommended daily allowance in order to see what it does to him.
Quite obviously, he'll become completely drunk and hungover and ill for the first week, and then become accustomed to it and probably start drinking more to hit his rebuilt tolerence levels. His gym work will become less and less through lazyness (alcohol can do that) and why will he want to do gym work with a hangover anyway? He'll start becoming slightly fat and bloated and irritable, and then he'll get into work and start making mistakes during work, annoy Chris, and end up becoming friends with the alcohol in order to drown the stress caused by the show. The three weeks will have passed and Aled will either take a week off to completely fix his body, or continue drinking behind everyone's back and develop a very real alcohol addiction. At this point, he can either come out on air as admitting he has a problem, or be embarrassed in the office with an intervention. He will go to rehab on the BBC paycheque and come back with a new lease of life. Or he'll find heroin and slowly kill himself, as many addicts do when the rush of one vice has been lost.
I don't see a problem :)
Can't wait to follow this. Does sound interesting.
Intrigued as to where we come into it though.
This will be interesting. I look forward to seeing the results! :) You're either stupid, an alcoholic, up fora challenge or really trying to prove a point! Good Luck!
And I woke at 8.47 :D Lucky me thinks

im no doctor or health guy but I know lots about this (due to my nights out:D) If Aled's already healthy boys was to drink 8 units a night it would ruin his healthy body. I was just drinking one night with lots of friends (I had lots ) 2 Day later when i went to play football I didn't feel great, lack self esteem, and couldn't play well. But it in the name of science and I haven't relay drunk since then
Andrew80
14-08-2008, 10:12 AM
It will be interesting. I would have some wine most nights - a couple of glasses after work. I cant wait to see the results.
When are we all having our drinking night out?
3 years time when I'm 18 please? :)
Meh, London's so farrr!

you can get some advice off andy for the drinking he is good at it so i hear :p
Sounds interesting I used to drink quite a lot was always out partying from when I hit 18 till about 20 had loads of mates then and was always invited to nights out most of them time it was the whole week of drinking and sleeping then more drinking no hangovers tho for some reason I don’t get them the first week I started drinking that that I did feel even more tried than I ever have and was lazy not doing the things I would have normally done it work witch was more than what I was ment to
After the first week I felt fine did not seem to get drunk as much when I stopped drinking most night outs I felt ill for weeks after stopping a bad headache vomiting and dizzy all the time even got the shakes meaning my arms legs and hands were shaking all the time
Saying that it might not happen to you. Good luck Aled make sure you have someone to give you lots of TLC during the 3 weeks and after wards
Oh and the drinking night out sounds fun can anyone come or just console Simon and rich? And who ever else helped out :D

Anyone over 18 can come I guess, it was me, Aled, Adam and Postie last time.
cool wonders if i should vist my aunt k for a weeks around that time:p would be brill to se you all face to face
Well, the recommended daily allowance for men is 3 to 4 units a day, and if its to be double that, then aled has to drink 6 to 8 units a day, yes?
Which is about 2 and a half pints of lager, 4 glasses of wine or 3 to 4 vodkas. And what will the results be at the end of the 3 weeks? Probably no noticeable difference. In the long term, sure, i bet its harmful. But i dont actually see what this is supposed to prove?
well it can be known to bring out more spots and stuff i did put weight on witch i have lost now also forgeot to say that lol good luck aled
There was me thinking this was about the film?

Just wanted to say that I think what you are doing is great Aled. I know it must be hard for you and I hope nothing too bad happens to you as a result of this experiment and hopefully this will show young people who listen to you the dangers of alcohol.
Radio presenters have been criticised for promoting heavy drinking so as to be seen as "cool" by their listeners.
Researchers from the Bristol-based University of the West of England looked at 1,200 hours of output across six BBC and commercial stations.
Under 50% of all comments about alcohol encouraged drinking, but in output from just presenters the figure rose to 73%.
BBC Radio 1's Chris Moyles came in for particular criticism. The BBC said its presenters did not encourage drinking.

Thanks a lot guys. I have never felt as exhausted as I have today. Late night, drunk last night, little sleep then a physical and mental test this morning on brekkie. Then on to News 24 with Big Boss Ben to talk about it on there! A bizzare day.

lol or just good humour
Recession. Falling property prices. Mortgage repayments. Credit repayments. Rising utility bills. The cost of living. The price of eggs. £3.50 for a portion of fish and chips.
The price of petrol. Car insurance. Inflation. VAT. Exports. Imports. Faltering performances on the stock market. The cost of a barrel of crude oil.
International relations with Russia. The many and varied failures of the England football squad in recent tournaments. Unethical electoral procedures in Zimbabwe.
Rockslides in Egypt. Hurricanes in New Orleans. The San Andreas fault. Darfur. Global warming and the plight of the polar bear.
The common cold. Type 2 diabetes. Alzheimer's, organ failure, osteoporosis. Cancer. AIDS. World poverty.
Armegeddon. The Apocalypse. The ends of days. The death of hope, of love.
Researchers from the University of the West of England have accused radio presenters of causing them all.
Research into 1,200 hours of radio output found 703 references to alcohol or drinking excessively. The study was funded by the Department of Health and the Home Office and the inference in their statements last week was that radio is actively encouraging people to drink until they choke on their own vomit.
If the researchers check again, they'll no doubt find references to every ill ever suffered by mankind.
So now we know who to blame.
Damn you Moyles, destroyer of worlds.
Hmmm, thats odd Adam, I'd blame Matt Fincham for most of those things ...
