The Sunday Surgery is moving forward by an hour, thanks to the exciting new Sunday changes at Radio 1 ... check out the Surgery from 9 pm rather than 10 pm ..

The Surgery seems to be lasting for an hour less, however, and is going to be an intensive show for teens, according to the BBC press office.

Before Aled will be a new presenter, Tom Deacon, who has worked with Switch!! He will broadcast from 7 pm until 9 pm.

Ahem... I actually have a small gripe with this, and it's once again Radio 1 directing stuff at TEENS - even though the target audience is up to age 30... so what about the 20s and 30s?

So this is a quote from BBC's Press Office about BBC Switch, which I believe the Surgery falls into...

BBC Switch is the BBC's offering for 12 to 16-year-olds with content delivered through existing broadband, TV and radio services.

I've always wondered why it was so late, I know pathetic 12 year old me would have trouble staying up from 10-12 and have school the next day. Bringing it forward sense to me. I know that statistics mean nothing to the individual, as most of us here are over 16, but it makes sense if thats their main audience.

I always feel really curious about the stats.

I do hope though (as I've said on UM) that a show lasting only one hour won't mean it winds up feeling really "rushed".

A lot less music though.

I like the fact that the Surgery is moving forward an hour, that means I'm more likely to stay up and listen to it all. :)

I like the hour forward too, because I usually fall asleep in the middle of it, or just before the end!! lol

I'm exactly the same. I think I like my sleep too much though. :)

Ditto to the time thing, most times i listen but the rest i fall asleep before, i've always though 10pm was a bit too late. But yay for the 9pm start though :)

At about 12 I got a combi TV - Cassette - Radio thing... It had a 4 inch black and white monitor that I was allowed in my bedroom! It was then I started watching Prisoner Cell Block H, it was amazing. I was able to stay up late without nearly anyone knowing!

Oh actually Prisoner at 12 - oh god I was always Gay wasnt I....

Between, Prisoner and my story teller casettes ... I was doomed.
