Sona looks to be a challenge for Michael! I wonder how he'll get out of this one!
P.S do you know that Sara Tancredi won't be in the first few episodes due to Sarah Wayne Callies real life pregnacy? Just incase you didn't.... but I'll miss her for those few episodes! lol

you should watch it Ali, it's the kind of show where you need to watch from the start though
I really want to see Prison Break, but i cant be bothered catching up on it all. Is it possible to tune in now and get up to speed on things?
Ellie

Kinda, you can get the rough idea of things, enough to get into it but there has been so much happened in the last 2 seasons that you might get a bit lost on some things, might be worth reading up on it to get up to speed

Well, there's two seasons to catch up on, the first season of which is amazing, the second one wasn't as good, but the next season is looking to be amazing again, so it is worth watching the previous seasons to understand the show.

In the USA it starts again on the 17th (I think) and according to Ellie (first pot up top) it starts again on 'Sky One' on the 24th.

Can't wait to get back into Prison Break. the Lockdown episodes of the first season were two of the best episodes of TV ever IMO.
Can someone give me a basic rundown of what its all about, and whether its worth playing catch up over the next couple of weeks?!
Console

The essential idea behind the first series is that Michael Schofield (Wentworth Miller) is trying to break his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), out of prison for a crime he believes his brother didn't commit, and so comes up with an intricate escape plan to break his brother out of prison, the first step of which is getting thrown into that prison himself.

I enjoy it because it's really cleverly written. There is one character who you should hate beyond belief due to the thing that he's done yet the way he's written and the actor portrays him you get hooked on him. Plus the variety of characters. These are bad men, they have committed crimes yet you develop a compassion for them. They may have committed yet you see things from their point of view. Getting out for this particular purpose and you agree with it.
Such a great show.

I really want to catch up on 24, but i've got 6 solid days of t.v watching. Maybe when the next series stops ill try to watch it.

i've not seen it; when people have talked about it it's sounded good but never really compelled me to watch it.

I remember when I first saw the first episode of Prison Break; it was a pre-air that I got about 7 months before the show was set to start. I watched it, having read a brief description of the concept of the show, and immediately fell in love with the show. I don't often love a show straight away, but this one did it for me. So, I would suggest, to anyone that hasn't seen it, get a copy of the first episode from somewhere and watch that. If you like it, then by all means carry on watching it; if not then the shows just not for you.

I usually say the first 2 episodes console.... I found the 1st one very dull compared to the 2nd!
Console

The second episode is better, with a very interesting ending, but I think that the first episode is enough of a taster to tell if you're going to like it or not. That said, everyone is different and this may not be true for everyone.

I'm getting so excited now for this to start! I need to know whats happening to ol' Sara Tancredi! And Kellerman, and all the old gang!
There is a preview of the first 17 minutes of the 3rd series floating about online that I watched. Its just made me even more excited for it. I genuinly love this programme! (though I do feel they could have easily ended it at the end of season 2 successfuly, but, its all about the money these days)

Yeah i think the beauty of that show is that if the ratings fall it would be easy to end early
Ellie
08-09-2007, 08:24 PM
It's so popular I doubt they will end it until people begin losing interest.
It's like with Lost, they do have an ending for it but due to the popularity they keep having to make stuff up in the meantime because people still want to watch it!

No leekage of spoilers from me either, the same goes for Heroes (Back on Monday) and anything else I download.
There is no reason for anyone to post a spoiler even with a spoiler warning. I'm sure there are loads of boards out there that will have active discussions regarding the new seasons.

I disagree here, if its plainly and clearly posted that there will be spoilers contained in a thread, then its the person who clicks it's fault if they read something they don't want to. You didn't have to click it, so I think its fine for people to post threads about these things if its clearly labeled.

If it's on Sky 1 it'll be repeated at least a couple of times per week, surely between that and sky plus you can find somewhere to record it.
i would have more time if i dint have to share my sky with 4 others thats the only downside but i deff will be watching it even if im way behind as i can make the time to and then with bgoing back to wrok on monday meens ill have less time but im sure if i put my mind to it i can make them time to cach up as it does seem reely good and the storyline is amzing ouls some of the actors are cuteies

Well it goes one of two ways
1) The producers have used the internet for one of the best swerves in TV history.
or
2) The actor in question is massively unprofessional and should never work in TV again.
Ellie
16-10-2007, 09:48 AM
Hey! I like the actor in question!! lol
Meh, it's just work. They couldn't agree a deal so it broke down. It happens. If I wasn't going to get paid enough I'd look for a new job too and if my employer thought I was asking for too much then they wouldn't hire me.
Terrier
16-10-2007, 09:53 AM
Well I had been trying to keep names out of it for people who haven't seen it yet :-P
But anyway the problem seems to be the actor wouldn't agree to a 13 episode contract (as they wanted to kill them off midway through the season) so they refused to come on board. Plenty of Actors have been killed off in various shows through the years and haven't liked it, but that's the job so you film your scenes. This actor refusing to "make it easy" for them to tell the story the way they wrote it is just hugely unprofessional in my book.

This is Fox we're talking about here; the same TV network that is famous for having huge (seemingly arbitrary) gaps in show schedules, huge mid-season breaks (Prison Break's got a 4 month mid-season gap this time around) and airing epidsodes out-of-order, having a one week gap here and there is, unfortunately, not very surprising. What does make me laugh though is that in a few weeks Fox will release a report saying that the viewing figures for Prison Break (and other shows affected by the baseball-caused gaps) have dropped; well big bloody surprise there.

I have actually lost faith in Fox recently, cancelling drive...amongst many other shows, then treating the ones that are successful like this one in such a ridiculous way. I'd MUCH rather they showed them all in a complete series week after week, I don't see why a show has to become a certain popularity to do that. I get that they have to have time off and so on, but the whole thing could be just scheduled so much better.
Console
30-10-2007, 10:48 AM
I lost all faith in Fox years ago, after their screw-ups of Tru Calling and Firefly; I actually try to avoid watching new shows that are on Fox although some do sound too good to miss. It's a bit of a shame that Fox does get a lot of good shows.
