My Review

Went to watch The Simpsons the other day, have to say i enjoyed it. I was worried that it would have lots of celebrity guest stars, and just generally be at the same level of the tv series which is steadily getting worse. I'm glad to say my fears were unfounded as the movie proved to be a fun, comic adventure that contained only one named celebrity guest "Tom Hanks" and even he only made a small blink and you'll miss it appearance.

The story thankfully focused more on the Simpson family, and the hundred strong cast of springfield residents, and contained many of the incisive pop culture references and satirisms that you have come to expect over the last 18 years. And the story never drags, in fact it moves at quite a pace. There are some moments, like Barts full frontal nudity, that seem a bit over the top, but overall the movie lives up to the promise and hype.

Its been my belief for several years now that The Simpsons Tv Series has long past its sell by date. However if they keep producing movies of this standard, A series of Movies would definately be worth watching for years to come.

8 out of 10

I thought the movie could have been better. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I thought I should have. All the hype about it made me think it was going to be the best thing since sliced bread; but it sadly wasnt (The Southpark movie was much better).

There were some funny parts in it (The flying squirrel!) but I think it left alot to be desired.

I agree with you about the TV series. 18 (I think) series and still going, maybe its time to call it a day and go out whilst its still highly rated?

I watched it with a mate, and half way through we just looked at each other and mouther "I'm bored". I love the Simpsons, but this just felt like a streched out single episode :( It seems like a big shame they didnt take the opportunity to make it an amazing film that would have brough tons of people back to the TV show.

I dont like The Simpsons, generally. I dont like the TV show, its just not my taste.

I was however, forced to go see it at the cinema, and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Although, i think i only think that because i dont watch the Simpsons, so i cant compare it to the tv series and how funny it should have been.

I'm assuming that you don't really need to watch this film on a big screen? I'd be averse to spending London cinema prices on a film that would be just as enjoyable to watch whilst sitting in the comfort of your own home with a bottle of wine....ahhhhhhh wine.....
Let me know if I'm wrong.

Don't you just hate the fact that nowadays kids tend to talk all the way through films? It really pisses me off, and I find myself feeling like my mother when I turn round and give them evils!

arghh that annoys me! why do they do that?! when i went to see the third pirates movie i had kids on one side talking and a chinese couple on the other side of me with one of them explaining stuff in chinese to the other [i am assuming they were talking about the actual movie as i don't understand chinese...]

Trust me when i say it is. They've been doing this with alot of films lately and its really getting on my nerves! Harry Potter did the exact same and gave away the whole plot. Unbelievable. Shrek 3 did it aswell, they didn't give away the plot just all the funny bits, so i didn't laugh. The Simpsons movie isn't as bad, but it still does it.
